We'll provide you with a gorgeous, hand-built British bicycle and a tweed flat cap (caps optional, helmets also available) and we'll set off on an adventure around London’s iconic sights and lesser-known hidden gems. Following back streets and dedicated bike lanes, you'll ride from Big Ben past Westminster Abbey and up to Buckingham Palace, the home of the Queen, where we'll see the Royal Guards in their dapper uniforms. (Changing of the Guard days: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, & Sundays) You'll coast along (London is very flat!) at an easy-going pace, stopping regularly to hear fun facts and some quirky historical tales. There's time to take photos too! We'll then take a break to enjoy a pint of beer at a cosy historic pub where you can get to know your fellow travellers. Lastly, you'll have a chance to try street art in Banksy's graffiti tunnel (and we provide spray paint!). We've designed this route to give you the best introduction to London. London is the birthplace of the most popular music band in the 70s and 80s – Queen. We will walk down the streets that still remember Freddie Mercury’s footsteps and the most popular recording studio, where ‘Who Wants to Live Forever’ and ‘Barcelona’ were recorded. Shortly after this, you will be taken to the place where Freddie lived with Mary Austin, to whom he dedicated one of his most famous songs, ‘Love of My Life’. Reaching Freddie’s former house you will continue your journey towards the flat which all of the band members shared in the early 70s. Stop by the iconic pub where Freddie met Mary, Brian, and Roger before you walk to the house where Freddie died and which is occupied by Mary Austin and her family. Afterwards, we will explore the area which was Freddie's first flat. You will walk through the place which was once a Kensington Market where Freddie was quite often seen selling shoes and art before seeing where Queen recorded all the songs for their first 2 albums. As recommended in The Sunday Times, The New York Times and CNN: “The best way to experience the power and pleasure of chocolate is to taste its history.” ” Crafting bonbons or chocolate bars is not just a sweet treat, but it’s like weaving my affections and memories into each delicate piece.” Turning a cocoa bean into a beautiful chocolate bar is a wonderful, wonderful process. We will pair them with chocolate from different origins as we go through the chocolate history, so you see how the Aztecs created such beautiful cocoa. You will then create chocolate bars which you will be able to take home with Melt's beautiful packaging and a designer bag. An authentic experience from the Heart of Notting Hill. No prior knowledge is required - just a thirst for knowledge, curiosity and enthusiasm.
