Palatka is a rugged town with areas of distress and has taken longer to recover from recession. It has been identified as one of the poorest counties in the state of Florida. It's a great place to relax and get away. There's a fire pit and dock to enjoy as well.

Sandhill cranes will visit. Sunsets over the lake are legendary. The cottage has a full kitchen, TV, WiFi, and sleeps four to six. There are pools, hot tub, fishing pier, and boat ramp. In nearby Salt Springs swim at any time of year. Silver Springs with its glass-bottom boats is a half hour away.
